Did you know?
Family physicians are not trained mental health counsellors. They provide medical support to your overall health and well-being.
EXCITING NEWS!
Beginning July 20, 2026, we are launching a new team-based approach for all mental health appointments to give our patients more comprehensive, dedicated care!
Think of it just like our well-baby and diabetic appointments:
1. You’ll meet with a nurse or one of our two social workers first, who will gather updates from you and provide specialized support.
2. You’ll then meet with your physician, who will focus entirely on your medical care and medication management.
By partnering up, we can give you more time, more supportive counselling expertise, and a well-rounded approach to your mental well-being. There is no cost for this!
If you have an upcoming appointment, you may get a call from our nursing team, who will guide you through this seamless new process! If you are already seeing someone for your care outside of the clinic, that’s ok! We will work together to determine if this will still be of benefit to you in your care, and will do what is best for you.
Even better news? We are expanding from 1 social worker 2 days a week to 2 social workers 5 days a week!
This is part of the Interprofessional Primary Care Team initiative funded by the Ontario government.
We are thrilled to announce an expansion of our mental health and support services at Richmond Medical Clinic, in partnership with the Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre (WOCRC)!
Many of you already know Carly, our WOCRC intake counsellor and social worker, who has been on site 2 days a week providing independent support and system navigation to our patients.
Beginning July 20, 2026, we are doubling our team! Keila, also an intake counsellor and social worker with WOCRC, will be joining Carly and the rest of our clinic team.
With Keila on board, we will now have dedicated social work and system navigation support at the clinic 5 days a week available to active patients of Richmond Medical Clinic!
Please join us in giving Keila a warm welcome next time you see her!
We continue to invest in upgrades that help us better serve our patients, and tomorrow, June 24, we will be launching a brand new phone system!
As we transition to the new system on JUNE 24, you may experience slightly longer wait times and there may be a brief interruption in service during the morning.
We kindly ask patients to avoid calling the clinic tomorrow if your request/inquiry can wait an extra day. We would like to keep our phone lines open to those patients with urgent care needs during this transition.
Thank you for your patience and support in our ongoing efforts to improve access and service for our patients!
Good News! We heard your feedback!
To better serve our patients, we have extended our phone hours.
Effective immediately, our phone lines will now remain open until 3:45pm Monday-Friday, instead of closing at 2:30pm.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are always looking for ways to improve your experience and accessibility to our team.
We have adjusted the prices to some of our non-insured (non-OHIP covered) services to align with the Ontario Medical Association’s guidelines and in an effort to be consistent with pricing across the province.
The new fee schedule takes effect on Friday, May 1, 2026.
To review a list of uninsured services please navigate our Block Fee Page and scroll to the bottom of the page. This list will also available in all exam rooms at the clinic as well as in the waiting room.
Patients are required to arrive 15 minutes PRIOR to their scheduled appointment time to allow our staff and nurses to complete any required vitals and work ups prior to seeing the physician.
Failure to arrive 15 minutes early may result in an appointment cancellation as your physician will not have the required vitals and work up for your visit.
Thank you for working with us to ensure you are getting the most of out of every doctor's visit!
We do not routinely administer or stock vaccines offered in grades 7 and 8, which are typically done by school-run clinics during the school year. These include HPV, Hepatitis B and Meningococcal vaccines.
Patients missing these vaccines, who have also received a suspension notice from Ottawa Public Health, can get the immunizations administered at Community Vaccination Clinics run by Ottawa Public Health. Please visit the link below for more information on these Community Vaccination Clinics and to schedule an appointment for the needed immunizations.
